“There’s fear in the air” now, said Christian F. Nunes, president of the National Organization for Women. Nunes, a #MeToo supporter, also worried that compared to early 2020, it’ll be tougher to find jurors who aren’t influenced by “disinformation” and social media.
A 2025 survey conducted by Incogni and the National Organization for Women showed one in four American women have experienced online abuse – with 9 percent of that being sexual abuse. However, 2 percent of women who have experienced online abuse has been impacted by deepfakes.
“Online harassment extends beyond personal harm and has become a societal issue that deeply impacts women,” said Christian F. Nunes, President of NOW states.
